Reception 1

Diane Lee, Reception Teacher

Diane Lee is NNEB qualified and has worked with children for over twenty years. Before having children, she spent many years on a special care baby unit in England training and specialising in the teaching of "special needs" and bereavement counselling. Whilst looking after her own two children, Mrs Lee was chairperson for and taught at a community playgroup. Having moved to Geneva, Mrs Lee worked as a volunteer Girls Scout leader for seven years and then as Overseas Commitee chairperson for Girl Scouts of America. Mrs Lee is experienced in helping children with dyslexia and is a qualified Phonographics Trainer.


Rachel Chapman, Teaching Assistant

Rachel Chapman is a classroom assistant in Reception 1 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. She has lived and worked in Geneva as a nanny since 1994. In her spare time she enjoys reading, going out with friends and walking her dog.


Lorna Donkin, Teaching Assistant

Lorna Donkin was born in South Wales and played violin from an early age, travelling to the Royal Academy of Music in London every weekend as a junior exhibitioner throughout her teens. She obtained her Music degree with Honours from Cardiff University and moved to Kingston upon Thames, Surrey to pursue teacher training at Kingston University. Having gained her qualification she stayed in Kingston and spent 13 years teaching at The Tiffin Girls (grammar) School, covering Music (yrs 7-13), and English/Drama (yrs 7-9). Lorna moved to Geneva with her husband in 2006 and has four children attending I.I.L. with ages spanning from the top to the bottom of the English section. In her free (!) time Lorna occasionally conducts adult and children's choirs at the Church of Scotland in Geneva, but mainly drives a taxi service so that her children can pursue their love of the dramatic and musical arts!


Reception 2

Vanessa Sordat, Reception Teacher

Vanessa Sordat graduated from Westminster College, Oxford with a B.Ed (Hons). She then taught in Oxfordshire middle and primary schools for 6 years before moving to Geneva. She has taught English in primary and secondary schools here since 1988. At the weekend, Vanessa loves dancing, gardening, reading and outings with her French husband and teenage children.


Amanda Godfrey, Teaching Assistant

Amanda Godfrey is English and has lived in Geneva with her family since 2006. She has three children, two of whom are currently at the school and one is in the Swiss state system. She has worked as a classroom assistant at iil since 2008. Her interests are art, design and being by the lake in Geneva.


Miranda Malt, Teaching Assistant

Miranda Malt was born in England and obtained her BA (Hons) degree in Childhood Studies from Greenwich University. She moved to Geneva with her partner in 2006 and has two children attending IIL, one in the English section and one in the French. Her eldest son lives and works in England. In her spare time, Miranda enjoys playing the violin, cake decorating and walking. She is also the Co-leader of a Brownie troop in Grand-Lancy.
